Egypt Adventure: What Is the Best Time to Plan a Trip?

Offering an incredible mix of history, culture and adventure, Egypt is a perfect holiday destination for all kinds of travelers. While the country is considered a year-round travel destination, certain activities are better enjoyed during a particular time. Plan your trip depending on what you want from the vacation - historical wonders, stunning deserts, and breathtaking beaches. Here, climate varies significantly between seasons, making it essential for you to know the best time to visit Egypt.

Most travels happen between October to April.

This is also called the peak season as it is the most popular time to visit the country. These are colder months, so temperatures are mild, making it ideal for sightseeing and outdoor activities.

Why winter is considered the best season for an Egypt vacation?

If you are more interested in exploring the history of the nation, this is the perfect season to do so. Pleasant daytime temperatures (15–25°C / 59–77°F) make exploring ancient sites comfortable. You can plan visiting the Pyramids of Giza, Luxor, and Aswan, as the heat is manageable.

It is also perfect for Nile cruises, allowing for relaxing boat rides between Luxor and Aswan. Apart from that, Christmas and New Year bring a lively atmosphere, which attracts travelers. But crowds are larger and prices are higher.

The fall season (October–November) & spring (March–April)

The season sees fewer tourists compared to winter months, making it the best time to visit Egypt. Comfortable weather (20–30°C / 68–86°F) makes it a great time for desert safaris and city tours. You can also enjoy Red Sea diving and snorkeling in places like Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, and Dahab.

Summers (May to September)

With less crowds, cheaper airfare and hotels, this is the best option for budget travelers. However, extremely hot weather can make it difficult to enjoy desert safari or long sightseeing tours.
